Yesterday, behind closed doors, the majority of City Council gave a $75,000 bonus to City Manager, Sheryl Sculley and increased her salary by $20,000 bringing her total salary to $470,000. They did so without using any formal evaluation process or performance metrics, and despite a series of management failures and scandals on her watch, including a police chief under investigation, the Tricentennial Commission CEO resignation, a police shortage, the Centro San Antonio embezzlement scandal, and suing San Antonio First Responders.

Do you think City Manger Sheryl Sculley deserves a $75,000 bonus? That's what she got in yesterday's closed-door meeting.

No, but I don’t blame her for accepting the raise either. I would take it if it was offered to me. I think the rest of the City Council and the Mayor should be fired for offering her the raise without taking it to the voters, after all the raise comes from the taxpayers money not the City Council’s money. If each City Council member paid out of their private account I would not care, but when it comes from their constituents, I have a problem with this raise. The worst part it was done behind closed doors.

Are you friking serious San Antonio? This lady is the reaso for our manpower shortage. The puppeteer behind the McManus/salvaggio lawsuit which she pushed for repeatedly to have him fired. Then lost. Suggested McManus to CPS and created a position that never existed. Then never hired a chief replacement knowing she was bringing McManus back. It was all a cover up. She needs to be fired. She’s milking this city for wleverything it has and will leave them hi and dry in the end. Turning everyone against each other. She will leave with all her easy money and joy a care in the world. FIRE HER

So where’s our raise and bonus. We’ve been doing more with less my entire career with the city.

    Heck no! That’s crazy!

No! She needs the Boot and for the door to hit her on the way out! This is “just” her base pay and doesn’t even include all of her other perks that are worth tens of thousands more. She and the other city wigs cry about balancing budgets and then attack the true people who are the backbone of the city, the blue collar workers. She says they make too much and their benefits are too rich… But yet her “Bonus” alone is equivalent to or more than what most city employees (and majority of SA citizens) make working an entire Year. How is that for being balanced!? The mayor and council are no better for approving of such and behind closed doors. What other “funds and favors” are being given or promised behind closed doors and under the table…?

Heck no I don’t agree with it, But it’s not like SAPOA is going to say anything about it. They still haven’t said anything about the chief and Sculley counting the cadets in the academy as part of the manpower which they are not supposed to.

    NO…!!!

sculley should never receive a raise…under a progressive city govt, only the top ceo”s (including heads of utilities) are stealing
tax payer money. this with the backing of city council, who are also getting a piece of the pie. There should be an outside agency
investigation into public corruption by top city officials.

  33. Dave Letterman Reply

She’s obviously a mob boss. She’s running the city like one of the 5 New York mafia families. Time for a change. That includes any council member who operates the 7th largest city in the same manner as the City ofCastroville.

  34. Jeremy Swindells Reply

NO!! So crooked!! A bonus that is more than what the average family makes here in San Antonio. City council is such a joke. Just puppets in her scheme to bilk the taxpayers of San Antonio for whatever she can without bringing anything good to the table.

Not NO, but HELL NO! Scullery is the reason we are in the shap that we are in today with manpower. The media will not dig into her for some reason. Where is Dillon Collier at when it comes to corruption amoung the high ranking city officials. There definitely needs to be an investigation into what is going on within the walls of city management. I could be wrong on this but I believe that Sculley has 6 or 7 assistant city managers and all of them have some sort of staff. The dollar amount attached to the city managers office alone is staggering. If only the voters new what is going on!!! Where are the media exposers that enjoy digging in the dirt to find corruption. I hope that if there is any crooked activity going on it is disclosed and if necessary she is held accountable.

Why do we need a city manager when we have a full time city council now ? We need to put her in a plane back to Arizona.

Ask Phoenix about her. She destroyed the police manpower there as well. When she came to San Antonio there was a $5,000,000 surplus, not any more . Everything she does is another crooked Hillary move.
