STATEMENT FROM MIKE HELLE, PRESIDENT OF THE SAN ANTONIO POLICE OFFICERS’ ASSOCIATION
Michael Helle, President of the San Antonio Police Officers’ Association, issued the following statement after reported remarks by Mayor Ron Nirenberg at a mayoral debate on April 8th, in which he attacked the character of the San Antonio Police Officers’ Association.
“It’s a shame, but not surprising, that Ron Nirenberg has chosen to attack the San Antonio Police Officers’ Association and assume he knows what police officers want or think. Ron has spoken out and voted against police officers at every turn. He has no idea what our officers face every day and you’d be hard-pressed to find support for this mayor among the rank and file.”
